The Brooks Hyperion Elite 5 is a racing shoe built for competition from 5K to marathon distances on road and paved surfaces. The midsole uses DNA Gold, a 100 percent PEBA based foam, paired with an Arris Composites SpeedVault+ carbon fiber plate that is size customized per shoe to reduce weight and optimize bending stiffness. The upper is a lightweight engineered mesh with silicone lace sheaths and a TPU pressed construction for a secure, low profile fit. The outsole uses SpeedTack rubber for lightweight traction. The shoe has an 8mm heel to toe drop, with a 40mm heel stack height and 32mm forefoot stack height, and weighs approximately 195g. It is built as a unisex model, with the same materials, plate and cushioning technology across sizing.
